Pre-License is a course taken to acquire the license certification. Continuing-education is taken to maintain or renew a license; called CE or credits.
All students must pass the real estate principles with at least a 70%! School needs your ssn and date of birth to report the completion to the state.
Exam prep is very important before taking the state real estate licensing exam. The best time to take the exam is within a seven to sixty days after taking the course. If you wait longer; you should re-read the law and the textbook. Preparing yourself with practice exams and definitions is also a must.
Failure to pass the exam within two – three attempts will trigger the requirement to take 12 hours of additional education. This could be a specific approved real estate review course or any approved continuing education courses. The completion must be proven by bringing an actual certificate to the exam appointment on your next attempt.
As of April 16, 2016, the cost for a real estate license application is $110. Up $10 for the first time in over 20 years! The deposit for the Education and Recovery account went down to $10 from $30.
